** NOTICE - REQUIREMENT**

All sellers with a branded horse will need to furnish a Brand Inspection Release.  Please bring with you and turn it in with the coggins and health papers at the check-in chute.  All Horses, including Iowa and market horses, MUST have current (within 6 months of the day of sale coggins must NOT be dated before October 4, 2023) coggin papers and health papers. Horses arriving at our chutes with no coggins or no up-to-date coggins papers will have their blood drawn by our vet.  You will be charged $35 per head for the current coggins (plus $10 for a 4-part health certificate).

HORSES CONSIGNED TO THE MARKET PEN - SELLERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT AND SIGN A HEALTH HISTORY DOCUMENT - NO HORSES WITH OPEN SORES, UNABLE TO WALK, CRIPPLED, BLIND, OR UNDER 700 LBS ACCEPTED.

Spring 2024 Sale Schedule

Take in for items to be sold on the Machinery Lot-Saturday March 30, 2024 8:00am to 4:00pm-EVERYTHING WILL BE CLOSED SUNDAY-Monday April 1, 2024 8:00am to 7:00pm.  Morton Building will be closed-No tack items will be accepted-See below for a list of smaller items that we will accept for sale on the Machinery Lot.

April 3 - Live Sale starts at 8:00 am - Select small items(See list below), Simultaneous Online bidding starts at 10:00 am - Horse Drawn Vehicles, Vis-a-vis, Buggies, Hitch Wagons, Carts, Wheels(All wheels sold by the piece, not the tag), Horse Trailers, At approximately 3 pm in the big show ring, we will have our Horse Preview.  2-3 hour sale of new tack following the Horse Preview in the horse sale arena

April 4 & 5 - Sale starts at 9:00 am - Catalog Percherons, Belgians, Spotted Drafts, Clydesdales, Shires, Haflingers, Fjords, Draft crossbreds, Mules, Ponies, Light Horses, and Miniatures, followed by Uncataloged horses of all breeds

COMMISSION RATES:

On Horse-Drawn Equipment(including miscellaneous items):  20% on every tagged item under $50.00; 12% on every tagged item from $50.00 to $500.00; 10% on every tagged item from $501.00 to $1,000.00; and 7% on every tagged item over $1,000.00.  No tagged item will be less than $4.00 commission.  All no-sale items will be charged the same way.  No value items will go to the dump if not picked up within 2 weeks after the sale.  ALL ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED NO LATER THAN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE SALE.  WAVERLY MIDWEST HORSE SALE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY ITEMS LOST OR STOLEN AT THE SALE.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ITEMS YOU BUY AT THE SALE NO MATTER WHICH DAY YOU PURCHASE IT

Draft Horse & Draft Crossbred Commission:  There will be a $20.00 non-refundable fee per head for all cataloged horses.  Horses consigned after February 7, 2024 will be charged $25.00 consignment fee per head($20.00 per head for 3 head or more).  A 7% commission will be charged on all draft horses, draft crossbreds, draft mules, haflingers, and fjords whether cataloged or noncataloged(Maximum $1750.00).  There will be a 4% commission no sale charge, with a minimum of $50.00, on all draft horses, draft crossbreds, draft mules, haflingers, and fjords.  Yardage charge on horses and mules is $7.00 per head on sales and no-sales.

Pony, Light Horse, and Miniature Horse Commission:  There will be a $20.00 non-refundable fee per head for all cataloged horses.  Horses consigned after February 7, 2024 will be charged $25.00 consignment fee per head($20.00 for 3 head or more).   A 7% commission will be charged on all light horses, ponies, and miniatures(Maximum $1750.00).  There will be a 4% commission on no-sales with a minimum of $25.00 on all light horses, ponies, and miniatures.  Yardage charge on horses and mules is $7.00 per head on sales and no-sales.

CREDIT & DEBIT CARDS ACCEPTED AT THE HORSE SALE

We accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover card, or debit cards with proper ID.  There will be an additional 4% convenience fee added per transaction.

We will accept Canadian checks payable in US FUNDS.  We reserve the right to request a letter of credit from your bank guaranteeing the check payable in US funds.
ATTENTION SELLERS!
Because of the unique nature of the Waverly Midwest Horse Sale, horses in this sale must be prepared to be shipped to all states.  This requires an original Coggins test, A GID or Elisa (no copies or fax copies will be accepted) AND a 4-part re-assignable health certificate PER HORSE.  The test must be performed within 6 months of the date of the sale.  Each horse must arrive with a negative Coggins and a 4-part health certificate.  If the health certificate is not a 4-part re-assignable, one will be issued by our sale veterinarian for a fee.  
When faxing information on Percheron registration papers, please make a copy of the papers and fax a readable copy.  Please call us to verify papers are readable.
